WWE AND ME Week of December 18, 2016

Hey, Queer Mabel (AKA Stephanie) here. Bringing with me my WWE column. This is where I will sort of giving you my thoughts on the week in WWE. What was good, what was meh, and what was so awful I wanted to claw my own eyeballs out. With Roadblock, Raw, NXT, and Smackdown this week was a pretty bad one for WWE wrestling. Anywho let’s get started.

What Was Good:

Starting with:

My match of the week: Fatal 4-way for the NXT Championship #1 Contendership on NXT. An absolutely stellar match between Bobby Roode, Tye Dillinger, Roderick Strong, and Andrade Cien Almas. The four of them put on one hell of wrestling performance. In the end, Roode (One of WWE’s best heels) came out on top, earning the right to face NXT Champ Shinsuke Nakamura at NXT Takeover San Antonio.

The Cruiserweight title triple threat match between Rich Swan, The Brian Kendrick, and TJ Perkins at Roadblock was pretty solid.

What was Meh:

Pretty much most of the week in WWE, from Seth vs Jericho at Roadblock to a tag squash match on NXT. It wasn’t a great week for WWE as previously stated.

What was Eye Clawing Bad:

The Ironman Women’s title match of Sasha Banks vs Charlotte at Roadblock. The match itself was absolutely spectacular and if not for the ending would have been my match of the week. The problem was Sasha lost, meaning Sasha a 3 time Women’s Champion has never held the title longer than a month and has never successfully defended it. Completely delegitimizing the best female wrestler (And one of the best wrestlers period) in the company. It was an awful decision breaking what was otherwise a great rivalry filled with great matches.I am still pissed about it.

Boyfriends. For some god damn reason WWE has decided to involve half the women’s division in storylines where their boyfriends get brought up constantly, hell even Renee Young (A WWE talk person not a wrestler) got dragged into this mess. The Women’s division is supposed to have moved past this kinda bullshit, but it apparently hasn’t and it is very disappointing.

Final Thoughts:

While there were a few standout matches this week still somehow managed to be a bad one for WWE. Through a combination of awful booking, and terrible storylines. I really hope things pick up from here, but I really worry they won’t. And seriously these boyfriend storylines have to fucking end.
