Like “The Flash Season 1 and 2” one of the carry-over phrases was that of Harrison Wells and later used by Barry Allen was “That future will be here faster than you can think”. Another thing that will be here faster than we can think is the debut of the first Justice League animated series since Justice League Unlimited went off the air over a decade ago.
The series premiere will air on Friday, December 16th at 6 PM ET/PT. After it’s premiere it will move over to Saturdays with the next episode airing on Christmas Eve at a time TBD. The series will also see the return of Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill as Bruce Wayne/Batman and The Joker/Alec Holland/Swamp Thing respectively. Some of the actors joining Conroy and Hamill are James Woods as Lex Luthor and Dietrich Bader as Booster Gold. A notable actor in the synopsis is Sean Astin reprising his role in the DC Shared Animated Universe as Shazam/Captain Marvel. Like Teen Titans GO, Justice League Action will run at 11 minutes per episode.
In “Shazam Slam,” the villainous Black Adam battles Batman on the Rock of Eternity and unleashes a horde of Djinn determined to turn the Earth back to its pre-human, volcanic state. Affected by the otherworldly powers of these primordial monsters, Batman becomes possessed and is turned into a giant flying Batmonster laying waste to the Hall of Justice, with only Superman capable of taking the fight to the Dark Knight. One by one, the Justice League – with the help of Shazam (voiced by Sean Astin) and The Wizard (voiced by Carl Reiner) – must hunt down and defeat each Djinn in order to yet again save the world from destruction.
