Despite being knocked down to number two in the box office to Newt Scamander, Marvel’s Doctor Strange is still flying high in the worldwide box office. Which leads me to say: Dormammu I’ve Come To Bargain…
Marvel’s Doctor Strange brought in $26 million overseas this weekend and another $17.7 million in the United States, bringing its worldwide total to $571.5 million. It now propels the film past “Ant-Man’s” $519.3 million total and is now within striking distance of “Iron Man’s” $585 million.
In China, however, the film has grossed $103.2 million, becoming the sixth Hollywood film to cross the $100-million milestone in that country in 2016. It has already surpassed the totals thereof “Ant-Man”, “Guardians of the Galaxy” and “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice”. The film should receive a box office supplement when it opens in Japan on January 27th.
